The Eucharist on Wednesday, July 17, had a different dynamic animated by the Caribbean region. We were organized into small communities around the Word. The chosen and reflected gospel was that of the Road to Emmaus. This dynamic ended up in a very meditative and contemplative Eucharist.
Morning greetings from the social networks were shared. After this we did a first survey was of the candidates for the various Secretariats of the General Council, as well as of the advisory.
While the survey was counted by the religious advisers the rest of us went to work analyzing the current reality of the Movement in groups made up of representatives of the different regions and groups without a region. He worked on three points: 1. The actual strengths of the Movement; 2. weaknesses, and, 3. challenges of the Movement for the coming years. The results were brought and shared in common leaving very similar things in the 8 groups and very interesting, so they will help us as a basis for future lines of action. The synthesis team has taken note for the communication and further development of this work.
After lunch we went on a tour to Medellin. We had a fun afternoon full of fraternity. Two traditional Colombian Chivas (old transportation public buses) took us and showed different places in the city: The Barefoot Park, El Pueblito Paisa, La Plaza Botero and El Parque de los Deseos. We dined in a restaurant near the Claretian parish of Jesus Nazareno. Finally, with a party atmosphere, lights and music, we returned to Villa Claret to rest.
